Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Hindu god Vishnu – the Preserver. During his childhood, he was playing with his elder brother Balaram – who is an incarnation of primordial snake Shesha – and other cowherd boys. A demon named Pralambasura entered their group with an intention to kidnap Krishna and Balram, posing as a cowherd boy. In a game in which the boys have to carry other boys on their back, Pralambasura carried Balram on his back. He felt Balram’s weight unbearable and transformed back to his original form. Seeing the real identity of the demon, Balram struck him with his fist and killed the demon.
