Bhuvaneshwari is a form of Hindu Goddess Shakti. She is one of the ten Mahavidyas or Wisdom Goddesses. Bhuvan means world and ishwari means Goddess. She is the goddess or ruler of the universe. The entire Universe is considered her body and all beings are her ornaments. She is the embodiment of the entire universe. The worship of Bhuvaneshwari ends the illusion—Maya. The goddess redeems the devotees from the illusionary world. She is depicted as four-armed, holding a scimitar, elephant goad, and lotus.
