Buddhist Saint Milarepa – the Yogi of Tibet.
Jestsun Milarepa (1052 – 1135 AD) is one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and poets. He was a disciple of Marpa Lotsawa – a prominent figure in the history of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born in a village called Tsa in Tibet to a prosperous family. He was believed to possess supernatural powers and sorcery skills. Nyanang Phelgyeling Monastery in Nepal has the rare statue of Milarepa created by his disciple Bhu Rechung Pa.
