Chandra is the divine personification of Moon. The ruler of mind.
In Hindu mythology, Chandra is a Deva (demi-god). He is a part of Hindu system of celestial bodies – Navagraha. He is depicted as mounted mounted on an antelope, holding conch, chakra, and lotus (symbolical representation of the mind). In the background is the Chandra Yantra. The Yantra is contained in a Bhupur (a square with 4 T-shaped doors), the doors give access to the Yantra. Inside the bhupur are 16 petals, which represent 16 kalas of Chandra. The colour of Chandra is blue. Blue is cold. It has a calming effect on mind.
