Hindu god Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. He was created by his mother Parvati using clay. His identity was unknown to Shiva and he was guarding the palace of Parvati and when he didn’t allow Shiva to enter, Shiva beheaded him. Later Shiva replaced the head of Ganesha with the head of an elephant. He is also popularly known as the remover of obstacles or Vighna Vinashak.
