Later Shiva replaced the head of Ganesha with the head of an elephant. Once Ganesha and his younger brother Kartikeya compete to circle the world three times. Kartikeya set out the journey on his swift animal mount, Peacock, while Ganesha circumambulating Shiva and Parvati on his animal mount, mouse, declaring that his parents are his world.
