King Sagar was the kind of the Solar dynasty, Suryavansha, and was the ancestor of Lord Ram – the incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu. He carries out Ashwamedha yagya in which a horse is allowed to roam freely in any kingdom and whichever kindom the horse wanders into either surrenders to the king who is conducting the yagya or they fight to denounce the King’s claim.
