Empowering Rural Indian Women.
Manu Smriti – the law of social classes – preached by Manu, the progenitor of mankind, says that where women are honoured and respected, gods always reside at that place. Societies that restrict women’s education and employment, they become poorer and weak. India has reserved on-third quota for women in local governance. This system gave opportunity to rural women to climb up the governance hierarchy, thus empowering rural women. More and more rural women are now at the helm of the well-being of countryside.
