Patanjali – the father of Yoga. Kundalini energy rising and awakening Chakras.
Sage Patanjali is the father of the Yoga. The originator of Yoga was Hindu God Shiva. He taught Yoga to Saptarishis – the seven great sages – in ancient times. The Yoga taught to Seven sages were different and became seven different aspects of Yoga. After many years, Sage Patanjali compiled all the types of yoga into a single treatise known as Yoga Sutra. Patanjali was not just a sage, he was an enlightened human. He is believed to have lived during 2nd century CE. He is also believed to be an avatar (incarnation) of Shesha – the primordial snake and servant of Hindu God Vishnu. He has also wrote important works on Ayurveda – the ancient Indian system of medicine. He is depicted here sitting in meditating posture, his all chakras been awakened, and a multi-hooded Shesha in the background, signifying that he is incarnated as Patanjali.
