Ram – the seventh incarnation of the preserver God Vishnu, with his consort Goddess Sita.
Ram is the seventh incarnation of Hindu god Vishnu – the Preserver. Ram is incarnated in Treta Yuga, which is one of the epochs in the Hindu four-age cycles. He was born to the king of the kingdom of Ayodhya, Dashratha, and his queen, Kaushalya. He is the central character of Hindu epic Ramayana. He was sent to exile for fourteen years in forest where his wife, Sita, was abducted by demon king Ravana. Ram and his younger brother, Lakhsman, with great efforts and with the help of Vanaras (monkeys) defeated evil Ravana. He is shown here along with his consort, Goddess Sita, in a forest during their fourteen years exile.
