Cows are worshipped in sacred Hindu scriptures, Vedas and Puranas. Kamadhenu is a divine cow which is worshipped as a goddess. In Rigveda, cows are called as aghnya – one which shouldn’t be slaughtered. A major Hindu God Krishna, the incarnation of Vishun, was a cowherd. Another prime reason for cows to be held in esteem regards is of their agricultural use and dairy. During the agrigarian societies (and even till present day), agriculture and dairy were the prime source of income and due to this reason, cows were considered worthy of being worhsipped. Cow is gentle in nature which also corroborates with the Hindu teaching of Ahimsa (non-voilence). Apart from cow, bull is also reverred in Hindu culture. Hindu God Shiva’s animal mount is a bull named Nandi, who is also worhsipped in temples along with Shiva. Printed on coated matte paper by inkjet printer, using ultra chrome inks with an off-white paper mounting with golden border, and encased inside a fibre frame with acrylic sheet cover in the front.
