Shiva Parvati Vivah – the marriage of Hindu God Shiva with Goddess Parvati.
Shiva was leading a life of an ascetic after her wife Sati jumped into sacrificial fire and gave up her life. Sati reincarnated as Parvati in another life and wanted to marry Shiva. Shiva, however, was not interested in worldly affairs anymore. Therefore, Parvati observed severe tapas for several years, thereby convincing Shiva to marry her. Shiva didn’t have any family, so Shiva’s all Ganas joined him in his marriage. Both Devas (demi-gods) and Asuras (demons) joined too. Hindu God of creation, Brahma and the preserver God, Vishnu are also shown here attending the Shiva Parvati Vivah.
