Swadisthana Chakra – 2nd energy centre or the Sacral Chakra
Swadisthana Chakra or the “Sacral Chakra” is the 2nd energy center located just above the Muladhara Chakra near the pubic bone. It is symbolically represented by a lotus with six, orange petals. The six petals represent six consciousness—Visual, Auditory, Olfactory, Gustatory, Tactile, and Mental. Hence, it is associated with our connection and relation to rest of the world. It represents reproduction through which the species propagate. It correlates to the Water element. Water represents fluidity and motion and this Chakra is associated with the motion of our emotions. The presiding deity at this Chakra is Lord Varuna – the God of Oceans, who rides a crocodile. The sound associated with this Chakra is Vam.
