Tibet Buddhism is a branch of Buddhism which combines Mahayana Buddhism with Tantric and Shamanic.
Buddhism was brought from India to Tibet during 8th century. The best known figure in Tibetan Buddism is Dalai Lama, who had to flee from Tibet during Chinese occupation. There are various sects in Tibetan Buddhism viz – Nyingmapa, Kagyupa, Sakyapa, Gelugpa, and Kadampa. Tibetan Buddhism features use of mantras and Yogic technique which resemble Tantric rituals. Bodhisattvas in Tibetan Buddhism are considered as both benevolent and wrathful.
