Vamana placing his third stride on King Bali’s head – High Quality Print of Artwork by Pieter Weltevrede

Vaman – the dwarf priest incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu avatar – covers earth to heaven in first stride and earth to netherworld in second stride, thereby taking the entire universe back from the reign of demon-king Bali. King Bali realises that there is no place left for Vaman to put his third and last stride, and he offers his head to fulfil his promise. Vaman puts his foot on Bali’s head.
