Vishnu is the God of preservation or sustainer. He is one of the Hindu male trinity gods – Trimurti, the other two being Brahma and Shiva. He is believed to take various avatars or incarnations whenever the world is threatened with evil forces to preserve or protect the world. He has incarnated into ten avatars – Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Ram, Krishna, Balarama, Kalki. The last avatar Kalki is a futuristic avatar who is believed to be incarnated in the present age of Kaliyuga. Vishnu is commonly depicted as Four-armed, having blue complexion, standing or lying on giant, primordial snake, Sheshanaag, floating on Ksheer Sagar (ocean of milk). He is depicted as holding chakra (disk-like weapon), mace, and conch.
